Compound Pulse Wave Generator
Programmable waveform transmission allows for intentional control of
the amplitude, form and frequency of transmitted sound waves,
independently of transducer characteristics. Ultrasound is transmitted
with the pulse waveforms and frequency components suitable for
individual purpose, thus resulting in higher quality images.
Broadband Harmonics
Broadband harmonics uses the broadband and large amplitude transmission
typically represented by compound impulse waveform transmission. The
technique of removing the fundamental wave components by phase
modulation is used. Compared with phase-modulated harmonics (based on
differences between two frequencies elsewhere used), the broadband
harmonics assure a high and wide frequency distribution and generates
images with straightforward sounds.
Adaptive Image Processing (AIP)
Using the Adaptive Image Processing (AIP), speckle noises are reduced
while maintaining the clear boundary of a tissue as depicted by the
reception signals. In addition, different tissues are displayed at
different levels of brightness with AIP.
eFLOW - New High-definition Blood Flow Imaging Mode
eFLOW is a high-definition blood flow imaging mode with drastically
improved spatial and temporal resolution. In eFLOW it is possible to
display blood flow information with higher sensitivity and resolution
than with conventional methods. This enables detailed observation of
fine blood vessels such as those inside a tumor, which were difficult
to display separately in conventional methods. eFLOW has a resolving
power that can separately display the hepatic artery running alongside
the portal vein.

eTRACKING - Comprehensive Assessment of Early Atherosclerosis by Ultrasound
Cardiovascular diseases can be prevented if atherosclerosis is detected
before morphologic changes such as plaque and wall thickening occur on
the arterial walls. Prevention and treatment of lifestyle-related
diseases are increasingly important today, and so the role of the
ultrasound diagnostic system is not only to observe the morphologic
changes but also to perform functional assessment. Aloka realized
functional assessment of arteries by developing our unique eTRACKING
technology.
Flow Mediated Dilatation (FMD)
FMD - Endothelial Function Assessment
Endothelial dysfunction is considered to be the first stage of
atherosclerosis. FMD analysis is generally known as an effective means
to evaluate endothelial dysfunction non-invasively and said to be
useful for early detection of atherosclerosis and determining the
efficacy of treatment.
Wave Intensity - The new Index of Cardiovascular Circulation Dynamics
The heart and the arterial system constantly interact with each other
through forward travelling waves and reflected waves. Wave Intensity
(WI) is calculated based on changes in blood pressure and blood flow
speed obtained at an arbitrary point in a circulatory system.
Bringing Advanced Ultrasound Technologies to the EUS Physician
Electronic Radial Technology for Diagnostic EUS
Olympus and ALOKA have developed the world’s first 360° electronic
radial scanning echoendoscopes providing panoramic imaging for complete
visualisation of the digestive organ. By utilising an electronic
array this endoscope design provides access to advanced imaging options
including Contrast Harmonic Echo as well as full Doppler functionality
which aids orientation in the pancreato-biliary region.
